I used Macrium Reflect to make a complete image of my hard drive, to prepare for the day when the drive crashes. When that occurs, I need a way to boot the computer a thin laptop that does not have an optical device. Macrium gives instructions on how to use diskpart to create such a USB drive. I followed the instructions, but the resulting USB did not function to boot the computer. I welcome all suggestions. I'm certain that one or more of you have seen the black screen of death.

I just installed Macrium Reflect and need to create a bootable USB stick onto which I can then copy files that are supplied by Macrium.
In reply to sofspra's post on September 29, This is the standard program in Windows To make a bootable USB you have to use Rufus to get the boot information on to the stick. To use this you put it into a running computer and in File Explorer you open the file and select Setup. This allows you to upgrade as the bootable media does a clean install.
